Swingin' at the fair. We had a really good time with the kids at the fair recently. I've gotten alot of feedback from this pic so I decided to put it up. I love this silly face. Memories for life.

Slacker

I am a slacker. I know it, and now that summer is over I really want to dig in and get serious with my photography. Recently I took a trip to Savannah with my best friend. It was beautiful, great weather, delicious food, and too many sites to see. One of the days there we took a tour of a lighthouse and I couldn't see the very top of the lighthouse where the "light" is, so I held up my camera and snapped away blindly. I was pleasantly suprised by some of the shots I got, I know I see things quite differently than many people do, this is one that I just really love.

Summer days

Summer days are flying by, will have to buy school supplies soon. Savoring some of the beach pics...

Back from the beach

Its been a while since I've been on here, went to the beach and it took a little while to get back on track. Had a great time in the surf and sand, the Gulf was gorgeous, I don't know about next year though. Did some portraits of my niece and many others. Here are a few, enjoy!

I took the dog outside tonight and this is what I saw!
I flew back inside (well ran, my broom is broken :))to get the camera.
I finally got a good shot where it wasn't blurred!!
Moon shots are really hard for me,
I haven't figured them out yet, but I'm happy with this one!

Day 21

Today is the birthday of my first son.
When I remember back to that day,
I remember it being filled with wonder,
elation, and just a little pinch of anxiety.
I can't even believe how old he is now,
it seems like time just hopped on a plane and flew by!
I am so blessed to have such a wonderful child,
he is truly a great soul.

Day 20

Blueridge is what they call it...

A little slice of mountains peeking through as we were leaving our first hike. PERFECT day! I think the high was 78 but for most of the day it was 74 and sunny. In some places it was even chilly - in the higher elevations.
We saw a few different falls, it was just beautiful. Can't wait to go back, there are several places we want to stop at and check out.

Day 19

This tree had two parts to it and it was just cool looking with all its twistyness. Great spot to take pictures in front of, especially the other side, but my kids were already done for the day with pics - this was the last place we went to.

Day 18

We spent the day hiking and saw some really interesting things. This is a carving done by indians estimated to be done sometime between 8000 B.C. to 1500 A.D. the big thing in the middle is a fertility symbol, to the left is a human figure, bird tracks and cup holes (for grinding food, medicine, and paint) are all around.

Day 17

Fishing addict. He will be spoiled for life fishing like this everyday! They have fun though, and come home with all kinds of stories for me.

Day 16

Had to put up one of the turtle cake! I was happy with the outcome and the birthday boy was really happy with it!

Day 15

I'm a slacker!!!! I'm working on it though, this 365 project is going to take me 2 years! Sad I know but its in my genes I tell ya! I will overcome it. Had a very hectic two weeks with school getting out, and all that goes with that, and a birthday! Lots of funny pics of the kids so I'll put up a few of them.

Knowledge

Reading is knowledge, and knowledge is what I need alot of!! Trying, and learning new things everyday. Its addicting, confusing, frustrating and stupendous [thats your word of the day] if you just really "get" one new thing.

Day 13

The boys have been going fishing everyday. Today while they were getting ready to go I was trying to get my shots and decided to take some of their gear. I do like the lures, colorful. I'm trying to figure out how to make my column wider so I can make the pictures bigger, hopefully soon I will get it! It keeps cutting off the sides of my pictures!

Day 12

I've been slacking the last few days so I will post a few. I'm still trying to make cool shots with ordinary things, maybe I am trying too hard but all I can do is learn right. So that is the theme here. Candles, fishing lures, books, blah. Whatever...

Today is theme thursday on one of Tasra's pages I think maybe facebook and the theme is "Worn". So it inspired me to look around. I just happened to be wearing my favorite jeans which are getting pretty worn out which makes me :..( sad. Anyway I was trying different angles and wasn't sure I had anything I liked but I was pleasantly suprised to find this one that I love. Also I just read something on Tasra's page about using your 50mm and getting great detail with it. So I changed my lens and started clicking away and this is what I got.

Day 10

Ok, I skipped yesterday although I did take pictures I just didn't post any so today I'll post a few. They are just random; The first is of my first love COFFEE. At night when I am watching tv I will sometimes sit and think "I can't wait to go to sleep so I can wake up and have my coffee" because it is only the most awesomenest (I know thats wrong grammer and not even a word but thats the only word I can think of to describe it) first thing in the morning. I took 2 one without the creamer in front but I decided I liked it in front better (?I don't know why?)


I'm trying to take objects and make interesting photos with them but it is hard! Anyway I tried different positions with the markers in the pail, I'm not really happy with these but I guess its just something I have to work on.

Ok, so this is still Saturday but I'm going to go ahead and post tomorrow's picture since it will be Mother's Day. Today I took the kids to a local art festival and I got a few photos there, and so many ideas!!! It was really fun and the children's art corner was awesome they really went all out for the kids!! So here are a few, enjoy! Does anyone else have a sillyband craze going on in their area?? Look at the girl helping them she even has a couple on.

Day 7

This is a creation by my youngest son, he was working on it when I got up this morning. It's a rocket ship, the army men are protecting it because they just found it buried in the earth. He asked me to take a picture of it and I thought "great idea" I'll use it for todays blog. I had to make it smaller to fit in the column but you get the idea. To be a child again, although I think I still have a lot of the child still in me. :)

Day 6

A pretty horse in a pretty barn. This barn is a perfect background, and she was so intrigued with me everytime my shutter went off she would just stare at me until I stopped. It made for very nice pictures, I got quite a few.

Day 5

"Yeah we'll be swingin', swingin'" Thats what I thought of when I saw this. Kind of idyllic, a simple picture that can bring back good memories. A still in a day of life, like any moment a child will run in and pick up the bucket. I'm really loving the retro look so you may see alot of that to come. Happy Tuesday to all enjoy the day!!

It was a rainy day today so I had to find something indoors to photograph. Then I got on picnik and started playing around with all the different effects and I couldn't stop!! I kind of got carried away so I'm going to post a couple. :)

Dewy Morning

When I let out our dog this morning I noticed the morning dew on my strawberry plants. Beautiful little drops on every tip, looks like Mr. Daddy Longlegs found a good spot.
